The Maha
Mantra resonated through Main St. this morning
(July 30) with bliss and bhakti ( devotion ) emanating from adherents ,
practitioners and tourists . ISKCON's 30th Annual Festival of
Chariots had its origins in Puri,
India thousands of years ago and is now a SaMo /
Venice summer tradition.
The chariots are actually 3 towers with deities that are pulled by devotees down Main St. towards Venice Beach . What is amazing is the sight of the crowd dressed in traditional Indian garb and attendants tossing flowers and fanning the gods . Families with their kids chanting - the joy is contagious.
The celebration culminates in prasad on the Venice Boardwalk.
HARE KRISHNA : the greatest and most powerful mantra for everyone
