Memorial for Ananda Lila

Last night, Monday 11th February, the New Govardhana community held a very beautiful memorial service for Lila. Many friends and well wishers were present, and family members, including Lila's older sister Cintamani, her neice Veda, and her aunty Robyn.
Family and friends shared memories of Lila, including some humorous stories, but mostly remembering Lila's sweet, unpretentious nature. Lila's dedication to Srila Prabhupada, and her love for her family were two shining attributes that we are all overwhelmed and inspired by, and all those she met were touched by these characteristics.
Following the homages Mallika sang with her heavenly voice, then Hari
Bhakti prabhu led a wonderful kirtan, whilst all present were able to
offer a candle to the deities and to pictures of Lila. Then we
enjoyed a feast prepared by Garuda prabhu, at the same time watching
a slide show
of Lila on a big screen.
Although sad to experience such a tragic loss of Lila, there is joy
in relishing that she is now with Krsna. To Subhangi, Jamal and
family our thoughts and
prayers remain with you, and when you return to Australia I'm sure
you will have so much support and love surrounding you.
