Dear Friend Of the New Orleans ISKCON Temple

All glories to Srila Prabhupada. All glories to Sri Sri Radha Radha Kanta, Sri Sri Gaura Nitai, Sri Sri Jagannatha, Baladeva and Subhadra.
Thank you again for your support of the New Orleans temple in these difficult times.
I just came back from New Orleans and took a tour of the city. What I saw
was mile after mile of devastation.
You will be pleased to know that the temple sustained minimal damage due to
the hurricane. The waters came up to the door of the temple room but came no
further. Lord Krishna was certainly protecting us.
I am sure you are also aware that the Deities and devotees were evacuated to
our Dallas temple, where they are being cared for by the kind devotees
there.
I have exciting news. We are planning to reopen the New Orleans Temple and bring back the Deities in Mid-January. There will be a grand procession accompanying the Deities from the Dallas temple to Their temple in New Orleans.
In order to accomplish this, I need your help. The money that was
contributed is being used to repair the temple, pay ongoing bills (since we
had no income in the meantime) repair the grounds and maintain the Deities.
There was actually enough to accomplish all this and arrange for the return
of the Deities until we had a violent thunderstorm last week that set the
electrical system of the temple on fire. Now I am informed that we will need
an additional $5, 500.00 to repair this damage (including the permits
required from the city).
Please help with a donation towards this amount to enable Lord Krishna's temple to open in January.

PS: I have included some pictures of the burnt out electrical system, as
well as the altar without the Deities, and the devotees who are presently
living in the temple practically freezing due to the electrical outage (no
heat in the winter). Please help.
